Be Brave, it is ok not to have all the answers You don't need to be an expert to support survivors Rather try to remember to be BRAVE

B- Begin by listening Don't pry or press for additionnal details

R- Respect confidentiality Ensure they understand if and how and when you will (not) share the information they have provided to you

A- Ask them what support looks like for them Let go on assumptions. Reporting to the Police is not every survivor vision of justice. Respect the choice they make

V- Validate them Remind them, it is not their fault and they are beleived Help find ressources and information

E-  Empathize Understand every one is dealing with trauma differently and that everyone healing path is different

Let this person know about Welfare, Malfare available for them at any time (see chapter 1.3)
